Dr. Harold M. Marvin, Davidson College class of 1914 was an eminent heart specialist and a faculty member of the Yale Medical School. He was also an enthusiastic collector of books, and donated many of the items in his collections to Davidson's Rare Book Room. His collection of materials, donated in October 1964, designed by and relating to the noted 20th century typographer, Bruce Rogers, includes most of the typographer's noted books, as well as some rare ephemeral items. Some of the volumes were personal copies belonging to Bruce Rogers and include his bookplate. Many of the items are personally inscribed to Dr. Marvin by Bruce Rogers who was initially a patient, and ultimately a close friend.
