Terrence Karpowicz is a sculptor, known for his incorporation of the theories and practices of Minimalism and Conceptualism. His work centers on his craftsmanship and life experiences, including losing a limb. He joins materials, such as wood, steel, and shards of granite, to create sculptures which emphasize movement through space and the kinetic relationships between the works and their environments. His work, Karpowicz explains in his statement for Wynn Newhouse Awards, "made it possible for me to join together my head, my heart, and my limbs."
