Magdalena Abakanowicz (1930-2017) was a Polish artist, best known for her figural sculptures and textile art. Her work often focuses on human bodies, many of which lack heads, limbs, or other physical features. Some stand alone, while others have been arranged in groups. Abakanowicz has held over 40 individual exhibitions across the globe of her nontraditional sculptures and fabric forms.
