Details of the CUP Read & Publish Agreement

Davidson College, as members of the Carolina Consortium, signed a Read & Publish agreement with Cambridge University Press (CUP) effective January 1, 2021. Authors affiliated with Davidson College who are successful in submitting their research articles to Cambridge University Press hybrid and gold journals will be able to publish open access (OA) at no additional cost. Article Processing Fees (APCs) will be waived.

Cambridge University Press publishes Gold OA, working with publishing partners to develop OA for different communities and Green OA (also called Green archiving), allowing you to socially share your content or deposit it in repositories.

Over 300 Cambridge journals support OA publications:

  •  GOLD OA journals
  • More than 330 HYBRID JOURNALS (subscription journals that offer an OA option)

CUP offers author-facing webinars designed to discuss the importance of publishing OA, and the opportunity to do so under the Read & Publish agreement. Please reach out to Kelly Denzer, kedenzer@davidson.edu, Collections Strategist and Discovery Librarian if you have any questions or would like to have a personalized training with librarians or CUP.

Why Publish Open Access with Cambridge U Press

Open Access makes scholarly research permanently available online to view without restriction. OA can also allow content to be published in a way that allows readers to redistribute, re-use and adapt the content in new works.

  • Publishing Open Access (OA) helps to advance discovery by allowing anyone, anywhere to find, read, and benefit from your research.
  • Cambridge Open Access serves authors and the wider community by publishing high-quality, peer-reviewed OA content.
