How to Find Videos: Ambrose

How to find streaming videos and DVDs, create playlists and clips, and more

What it is

Ambrose Video contains 70 streaming videos, including BBC Shakespeare PlaysThe Ascent of Man, and more.

Technical requirements: Ambrose Video previews are offered as MP4 Streams, and by default, are played with a Flash Player.  However, if you do not have Flash installed, or are using a device that does not support it, the videos will also play using HTML5. The videos are intended to be streamed using a highspeed internet connection.

Link to specific videos & clips

You can link to specific video titles and clips and use the links in Moodle, email, and Word and pdf documents.

To find stable URLs (permalink) to titles and clips,

  1. Search Ambrose Video to find the title or clip you want.
  2. View the title or clip.
  3. Expand the window in which the video is embedded.
    At the bottom of the window, you will see the permalink (i.e. stable URL) for the video. Use this link to share the video with others; do not use the URL that appears in your browser's address bar.
