Davidson and the Armed Forces

Since Davidson College was founded in 1837, countless faculty, staff, students and alumni have participated and served in military life. This guide is intended to highlight materials in Archives, Special Collections & Community that relate to this service

Other Service

In addition to the conflicts on the previous pages, Davidson students, faculty, and alumni have also been involved in the armed forces during other occasions, such as the Korean War, the War in Afghanistan, and the Iraq War and also during periods of inactive conflict. Today, Davidson students and alumni continue to join and serve in the United States Armed Forces. For a current look at the ROTC program at Davidson, please view the department's website.

Davidsoniana Files

Davidsoniana Files, or "​D-Files," primarily contain secondary source information and are housed in Archives and Special Collections. This includes newspaper articles, scanned memos, brochures and pamphlets, memorial speeches, and booklets.
