What is Creative Commons?

Creative Commons (CC) is a license that copyright owners can apply to give advance permission to use their work.

As a content user, you can use content licensed under a CC license without asking permission, so long as you follow the conditions of the CC license.

As a content creator, you can share your work under a CC license to make the work more open to others who want to use it.
