This asynchronous workshop is designed to enhance your academic skills by providing a comprehensive guide on effectively reading and understanding scholarly articles. By the conclusion of this microcourse, students will be able to list the sections of a scholarly article and explain the purpose of each section. Students will also learn how to use an abstract to extract relevant information and determine the article's relevance to their research question by critically reading the abstract. This workshop aims to equip students with the essential skills necessary for engaging with academic literature efficiently and effectively.

In this course, we show you how to fact and source-check in five easy lessons, taking about 30 minutes apiece. The entire online curriculum is two and a half to three hours. Each lesson has multiple pages and activities. After clicking through to each lesson, you can use the list of links at the bottom of the first page to navigate, or click through using the "Next up:" link under the main text.

This workshop equips you with essential skills for effective source-based writing. Participants will learn to distinguish between quoting, paraphrasing, and citing, and how to utilize the use of voice-markers and meta-language to enhance their academic prose. The session also addresses common pitfalls like patchwriting, empowering students to produce more polished and academically sound written work.

This workshop will introduce you to various citation styles, explaining why they exist and how to apply them correctly. Participants will learn the basics of citation mechanics, including in-text citations and reference lists. We will also explore tools that can help you more accurately and efficiently cite sources. Students will be equipped to confidently cite sources in their academic work.

Students will learn to enhance their study skills and create a performance plan to help them prepare for upcoming midterms. Peer Academic Coaches present a variety of academic strategies and approaches and work with students to help them start their midterm planning.

This workshop explores the various applications within Davidson Domains that can be utilized to tell your “story." Featuring WordPress, Scalar, and Omeka, Davidson Domains offers a suite of digital tools that enable student scholars to carve out a digital presence and create dynamic and engaging projects. Attendees will be able to set up (or resurrect) their Domains Domains account and identify the appropriate tool(s) for their creative projects.

Designed for aspiring podcasters who want to master the art of storytelling through audio, this workshop will guide participants through the essential elements of creating compelling podcast content, from understanding your audience to the technical aspects of recording. Whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your skills, this workshop will provide you with the tools and knowledge to produce captivating podcasts that resonate with listeners.

Learn the fundamentals of design thinking, a human-centered approach to problem-solving used by organizations worldwide. This interactive workshop, facilitated by the Hurt Hub, introduces participants to the five stages of the design thinking process: Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test. Through examples and exercises, participants will gain hands-on experience with each stage of the process.

A two-part workshop that explains how to build and publish websites with Git and GitHub Pages. The first part covers basic version control, how to code HTML, CSS, and JS, and publish a simple website with GitHub Pages. In part 2, you'll install Git and Github Desktop on your laptop, then use VS Code to implement a simple workflow to edit, push, and publish updates to your site using Bootstrap.
