Access to Library Spaces & Equipment
The E. H. Little Library is open during the semester 24/7. CatCard swipe will be required at all times as the library is currently closed to the general public.
The Information Desk is not physically staffed, but library staff and student employees will be running a virtual desk
Self-service check-out is available at the front desk.
Computers, printers, scanners, copiers, and laptop checkout will continue to be available.
Please clean all computing devices before and after use (sanitizing wipes available at the Information Desk)
Outside laptops, the library will not be lending out equipment (headphones, laptop and phone chargers)
Access to Library Resources & Services
You can now place holds on library items, which will be made available for Portico Pick-Up, at the main entrance of the library.
Please return all library items to the bookdrop located at the main entrance to the library
The Library’s research collection may be checked out using self-service at the front desk
At this time we can receive only electronic items through interlibrary loan and the turn-around time for access to digitized materials may be longer than normal.
Access to Library Resources
The Library’s databases, e-books, e-journals, streaming services, and online finding aids are available on- and off-campus using your Davidson username and password. Access these through the
library catalog, the A-Z list of research tools, and the Archives and Special Collections catalogs.
Electronic Course Reserves
To ensure that all students can access course materials, the library can work with you to make course materials available on e-Reserves and provide electronic access for your students. Please see our e-course reserves page for more information.
Research & Digital Learning Assistance
Librarians and instructional designers are available to meet virtually through Zoom to meet about your research or digital learning questions.
