History 424: The Global French Revolution: Find Travel Accounts

To find accounts of travelers' visits to France,

1. Do an advanced search in Davidson Library WorldCat
2. Enter the name of the country or region
3. In the next search box, enter the phrase "description and travel" and limit to the Subject field.

To find travel guides from earlier time periods,

1. Do an advanced search in Davidson Library WorldCat
2. Enter the name of the country or region
3. In the next search box, enter the following (be sure to include the quotation marks):
   • "description and travel" or guidebooks
   Limit to the Subject field.
4. Filter to an appropriate range of years in the "Publication date" field.

Note: it is not always possible to borrow early travel guides on interlibrary loan. You can search Google Books and the Hathi Trust to see if the guides have been digitized.
