Details for the ASM Subscribe to Open Journals
The American Society for Microbiology (ASM) announced the adoption of a Subscribe to Open subscription model for its six primary research subscription-based journals in 2025. This allows them to make content for each year Open Access through funding by institutional subscriptions, allowing them to meet funder compliance, including Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP). As part of this model, authors publishing in the six primary journals at a subscribing institution will pay no Article Processing Charges (APCs), this includes Davidson College authors.
The six journals are:
- Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy
- Applied and Environmental Microbiology
- Infection and Immunity
- Journal of Bacteriology
- Journal of Clinical Microbiology
- Journal of Virology
