The library is offering a new e-reserves model to ensure students have safe and equitable access to the materials they need for their courses. The library will work with you to make course materials available on e-Reserves and provide electronic access for your students. In some cases, it might not be possible to put an item on eReserve (due to availability, copyright, etc). In those cases we are always happy to find other alternatives.
To provide sufficient time to process a streaming request, we ask that faculty submit requests seven days before it is needed for class use. Submissions will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

The library is committed to providing affordable and equitable access to resources for students. Unfortunately, many of the major textbook publishers including Pearson, Cengage, McGraw Hill, Houghton, and others, do not provide e-textbook purchasing options for libraries. Instead, they require that students purchase their textbooks through the college bookstore or from another vendor. There are other options available in place of traditional textbooks including book chapters (to a limited extent), adopting alternate texts already owned by the library, and adopting Open Access resources (OA) or Open Education Resources (OER). If you have questions regarding alternate texts, please email library@davidson.edu.
