If you aren't finding materials doing keyword searches in our databases and you have a specific date/ event you're hoping to find newspaper articles about, do the following:
1) Go to the International Coalition on Newspapers (ICON) and search for a "newspaper of record" or an important newspaper during that time/ in that place
- Go to the advanced search
- Search for China or a specific city (i.e. Shanghai)
- Limit to the year(s) you're interested in
2) Once you receive title(s) for that place/time, interlibrary loan the newspaper you need
**note: please include the date that you need. These will usually arrive in microfilm and it will take a lot of time to go through an entire week, let alone an entire year
