Did you know that almost everything created today has some sort of copyright protection? 

That's right: a YouTube video, a blog post, and even your class notes are automatically protected by copyright.  That protection lasts for the life of the author plus seventy years! 

It's good practice to assume items you're using - whether print, audio, or video - have copyright protection.  Educational use does not exempt you from following copyright law, but there are ways to use materials legally.  In this guide you'll learn about:
