Copyright: Introduction

Information about copyright and how it affects your teaching, research, and learning at Davidson

Why learn about copyright?

Copyright infringement is against the law, violates the Davidson College Compliance with Laws and Acts regarding copyright, and is unethical.

Understanding copyright also lets you know how you can use copyrighted materials legally.

Confused about copyright?

We get it:  copyright is confusing.

In this guide, you'll find information about copyright and what you need to know and do when you want to use or share copyrighted materials.

If you are using materials created by someone else, you need to be aware of copyright law and guidelines.

Don't assume that all educational uses are in compliance!
